First bookclub of the year!

Hi there,

So the first bookclub of the year is done and dusted, such a great turn out and some really interesting conversation about trips overseas to laundry habits!

The first book pic is 'Dog Boy' by Eva Hornung

You can read about it on Good Reads here

Let me know if you can make it to the next bookclub by leaving a comment, you can use a psuedonym for your name!

It will be on the eve of Easter Friday, Thursday 28th March at 6pm. Happy reading.....

  3. I agree with you Jacs. I am now finsihed. Shocks, turnarounds and carpets being ripped out from under my feet the entire book but I loved it. Someone mentioned 'books that stay with you' at the last meeting and this is one for me.

  4. I'll be starting Dogboy on the weekend. It sounds intriging. Did anyone watch the ABC book club with Jennifer Byrne? Tbey reviewed Glidermesh by Joan London, it seemed very interesting, I'd like to read it. See you all next meeting

  5. No, I did not see it - will check it out now, Zippi. After finishing DOGBOY I am catching up on some bookclub reading from last year. Have finished Pomegranate Soup and am half way through Rosewater and Soda Bread. Enjoying both and eating too much!!

  6. The Joan London book sounds interesting. I am glad you are enjoying the Marsha Mehran books. They are not to be read while dieting! Also I can make Bookclub on the 28th.

  7. I have now finished State of Wonder and will returning it to the library this week. I am disappointed that I am going to miss the session on it, so will be interested in reading comments as other members complete the reading of the book. The exotic setting, the science and the anthropology , the non-stereotypical characters, and the chronological presentation of events all appealed to me. At first I found it difficult to care about the characters, but this was temporary. Carole
